At the secondary school were dj competitions held for enthusiastic students, this seemed to Maurice fun to do but unfortunately there were so many submissions that he was never selected. During the training MTRO he got this opportunity for occasional (together with other students or teachers) during schoolfeestjes to run. Since when Maurice was all music lovers this was a good earth.
When Maurice during a "werkvakantie" in Calella in Spain got the chance to occasionally agree on a plate to continue with the house DJ, he got a little by mixing and a new hobby was born. During his internship in Italy as a tour leader Maurice went more often run in the local nightclub and he started with (then) cassette tapes to take.

In 1976 Maurits was born in the Dutch city of Leiden. At a very young age he already knew that he wanted to make a career in the music industry. With his collection of records and cd's he started performing at schoolparties. He spent all his pocket money and lent money to buy all the equipment he needed to make his own music on professional turntables and synthesizers.He transformed his bedroom at his parent's house into a recordingstudio. Nowadays he has a huge collection of different samples and tunes on his computer to work with. With his perseverance and creativity, nothing can stop him now from making his way to the top and to be heard by all you music lovers and party people.

DJ Backslash - often called "Mister 100%" - is beyond all doubt a versatileb allrounder. His sound-sets are based first of all on dance-floor and party-crowd. His individual long-time club-experience - a mixture of house, electro, minimal as well as techno and progressive - that speak for itself.

His career started in a village disco in the north of Germany in 1990. At this time when funk, soul, rock and other music from the charts were regularly
played and a CD-player was not part of the standard equipment of the clubs. But this was not the problem at all because DJ Backslash always was fascinated by the music on vinyl. So a "rookie" started his first steps into deejaying.

Versatile, creative and polarising… these adjectives may be the best to describe the DJ & producer Bee-LOW. After his immense 2006 hit with his Sony licensed remix for MIA’s song entitled “Tanz der Moleküle”, which could be found in the playlists of nearly all the top DJs and also on compilations such as “Ministry of Sound – Annual 2007” & “Kontor – Top of the Clubs Vol. 33”, Bee-LOW is releasing on some of the most successful and renowned German labels of electronic music.
Bee-LOW’s first own release for KarateKlub Recordings (“Navajo EP”), which was released at the end of 2006, impressed Claude Von Stroke so much, that he put Bee-LOW’s track “Horny as a Motherfucker” on his Mixmag CD-compilation for the May-edition entitled “The Beats of San Fran Disco”.
